Bruges might be the one city on this site I'd unreservedly call beautiful, full stop — no qualifiers needed. Canals lined with medieval brick, cobblestone streets that haven't changed shape in centuries, and views like the one from Rosary Quay that look almost too composed to be real. It's a small city, easy to walk end to end, and somehow every direction still finds something worth stopping for.
The Markt Square and its Belfry anchor the city, but the quieter finds stayed with me longer — the Church of Our Lady's interior, the art inside Groeningemuseum, even the slightly indulgent detour through the Choco Story Museum. Add in the canals at golden hour and honestly, at night, and it's easy to see why Bruges gets called one of the most beautiful cities in the world. I'm not inclined to argue.
