Tallinn
A day trip across the Gulf of Finland
Tallinn was a day trip from Helsinki, a short ferry ride to a city that feels centuries older. Its medieval Old Town still has its walls and towers, St. Catherine's Passage and Town Hall Square, while Toompea hill looks out over red roofs to St. Olaf's spire. After an afternoon in Kadriorg Park, the ferry home gave me the view I'd waited for all day: the skyline glowing at sunset.
